To je veliki doprinos kulturi pamćenja u Kanadi i svijetu, velika pobjeda istraživača genocida i aktivista ljudskih prava i sloboda i veliki poraz negatora genocida u Srebrenici i Bosni i Hercegovini".

Press release of the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada
The Flower of Srebrenica was delivered to members of the Canadian Parliament

In gratitude to Canada for all she has done for the truth about the greatest crime after the Holocaust in Europe, the genocide in Srebrenica and for justice for the victims of this terrible crime, the International expert team of the Institute Research of Genocide Canada with more than 100 of the world’s prominent genocide and human rights activists and freedoms, wrote to the Speaker of the Canadian parliament, Hon. Geoff Regan to help in the realisation of distribution the Flower of Srebrenica, the symbol of the genocide in Srebrenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina to all the members of the Canadian Parliament.
In the letter among other things writes: " We would like to remind that Canada is one of the few countries in the world with two resolutions that has politically recognised and judicially established the fact that genocide occurred in Srebrenica. The procedure of the Canadian Parliament has taken place within bill on establishing July 11th as a Day of Remembrance for Victims of genocide in Srebrenica. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Freedoms in Winnipeg has established a permanent exhibition on the genocide in Srebrenica. The Canadian city of Windsor has unveiled the first monument to the victims of genocide in Srebrenica in the Bosnian and Herzegovina diaspora. In some Canadian schools and universities they have began to study the genocide in Srebrenica. Mayors of Hamilton and Windsor declared July 11th a day of Remembrance for the victims of genocide in Srebrenica. These indicators clearly demonstrate that Canada is the world's leader in the search for the truth about the genocide in Srebrenica and justice for the victims of this crime. In the year when our Canada is celebrating 150 years of its Independence, and our homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina marks the 25th anniversary of its Independence, also when we celebrate 25 years of Canadian recognition of the Independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, your positive response to our request really means a lot for all Canadians of Bosnia and Herzegovina origin, but also for the many Canadians who are deeply sympathised with the suffering of Bosnian and Herzegovina citizens in aggression.

In response of the President of the Canadian Parliament Hon. Geoff Regan sent to professor Emir Ramic, director of the Institute for Research of Genocide, Canada among other things, writes: " Thank you for your letter regarding the distribution the Flower of Srebrenica to Members of Parliament in order to commemorate the genocide in Srebrenica. I would like to thank you for reminding me that 11 is a day of remembrance   for the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica. It is heartwarming to hear of your work to ensure that this tragedy is not forgotten.
