On the behalf of Bosnians living in Canada, and on the behalf of many different cultural organizations of Bosnians in Canada,The Congress of North America Bosniaks, Branch Canada want to create a Canada - Bosnia and Herzegovina Friend Parliamentary Group. We want you to be member of this Friend Parliamentary Group. The task of this group would be to build and to create a truly voice of Bosnian and Herzegovina and Bosnians living in Canada, in Canadian Parliament.The member of this friendly group will be MP and MPP in ridding where Bosnians the most living in Canada.
Relatively speaking Bosnians are prosperous, well-educated, highly employable and, well-disposed to Canada. Together with other ethnic and cultural groups in Canada, Bosnians constitute the Canadian worldwide web of ideas and influence - known as Canadian Cultural Mosaic.
It is time to take Bosnians seriously. The existence of the Bosnian community in Canada is relevant to a wide range of issues facing this country and needs to be considered. It is also relates to the question of Bosnian national identity, and the face Bosnians show to the world.
It would be appropriate for Canadian institutions, both public and private, to capitalize Bosnian talent and goodwill.
Our research indicates that Bosnians can have positive effects on the home country, by influencing trade and investment flows and connecting local organisations to international development. In Canada's case, Bosnians is not a first-order economic issue, but it is one that deserves consideration.There are a number of steps Canadian institutions should take. Canadian national leaders should articulate the value of Bosnians living in Canada, and draw them into the mainstream of national life.The Government should also take a more co-ordinate approach to engaging with different cultural community in Canada. The Government should also explore methods of involving overseas citizens more fully in democratic processes in Canada.
There are also opportunities for businesses to take advantage of Bosnians international experience, and for non-profit organisations to tap the generosity of the Bosnians.
The task now is to build on early steps to create a truly Canada-Bosnia and Herzegovina Friend Parliamentary Group in Canadian Parliament.
