Referendumom za suverenost i nezavisnost BiH 1. marta 1992. su potvrÄ‘eni njena državnost, samostalnost i nezavisnost kao većinsko političko opredjeljenje graÄ‘ana BiH. BiH je prvi put poslije 1463. godine povratila i ostvarila svoj puni državni kapacitet.  Sve do 1. marta 1992, ona je čuvala svoju teritorijalnu cjelovitost i ustavno-političku autonomnost u okviru složenih i, u načelu, nametnutih joj državnih oblika da bi činom referenduma i prijema u UN 6. aprila 1992. ona konačno postala država u punom obimu značenja tog pojma u suvremenom svijetu. Ideja slobode je bila osnova referenduma za nezavisnost i samostalnost BiH. Ostvarenje nezavisnosti i samostalnosti BiH predstavlja čin ispunjenja stremljenja ljudi za većom individualnom i kolektivnom slobodom, te većim pravima koja se ostvaruju u formi nezavisne države.

The referendum for the sovereignty and independence of B&H from 1 March 1992 confirmed its statehood, independence and autonomy, as well as the will of the BH citizen’s majority.  The referendum, for the first time after 1463, returned B&H’s full civil capacity.Up to 1 March 1992, B&H kept its territorial integrity and constitutional and political autonomy within the complex and in principle imposed state forms, which the referendum and admission to the UN on 6 April 1992 abolished and gave B&H the full meaning of modern state. The idea of freedom was the basis of a referendum for independence and autonomy of BiH. The achievement of independence and autonomy of BiH is the act of fulfilling the aspirations of people for greater individual and collective freedom and greater rights that are provided in the form of an independent state.
