Dear Mr. Stephen Toope,

Genocide denial constitutes hate speech. Our NGO, the Bosniak & Jewish Solidarity, vehemently opposes ALL instances of genocide denial. We ask you to cancel the speech scheduled by Srdja Trifkovic who is a hate mongerer. Trifkovic was a spokesman for Radovan Karadzic, former Bosnian Serb leader currently on trial for the  Bosnian Genocide. Trifkovic was also present in Karadzic's office at the time when Karadzic ordered Serb forces to slaughter 8,372 Bosnian Muslim captives from Srebrenica.

Mr. Toppe, hate speech can cause violence and nobody wants that to happen. Students can react differently to genocide denial and racism. We need to prevent that from happening. Your support for genocide deniers and racists can also reflect bad upon your credibility, but we will address that publicly in the Province and Vancouver Sun after this event is over. Trifkovic is a member of White Pride (racist group) http://white-pride.org/2011/02/serbian-born-journalist-srdja-trifkovic/ . Since when do you permit racist activists to hold speeches at your University.

I urge you to cancel his appearance.
