To whom it may concern,

We at IGC are deeply concern with news regarding one of the sponsors of Canada soccer national team.

Today’s news published by Remembering Srebrenica UK, made us deeply worried and we would like to receive explanation regarding behavior of one of your sponsors.

For your information Remembering Srebrenica is the UK charitable initiative that promotes Srebrenica Memorial Day on 11th July, and educates about the consequences of hate.

News published by them today, we forward to you as follows:

We are concerned by these credibly documented allegations of discrimination at the regional subsidiary of Carlsberg which center on a pattern of abuse against Bosniak employees in their Sarajevo offices, incl. acts of genocide glorification.

Corporate social responsibility entails a culture of responsible reflection & commemoration of relevant atrocities in local markets, which in the case of BiH means the events of the Bosnian Genocide.

We urge Carlsberg thoroughly investigate these reports & take steps to appropriately inform & train their staff & management about the historical facts of the genocide in Srebrenica and the broader Bosnian Genocide. Educational resources are available through SrebrenicaUK & the SrebrenicaMC.

We would like to understand values of Canada Soccer organization when it comes to genocide and companies that for years avoid to look in to serious allegations regarding nationalism, discriminations and promotion of values that have nothing to do with humanity and sports.

Carlsberg has been informed numerous times regarding this, and they fail to do any investigations or actions in regards to this.

Bear minimum that we as Canadian citizen are asking for, is statement regarding this from Canada soccer.

We believe that it is in Canada Soccer interest to be associated with companies that carry Canadian values, and it seems that one of Canada soccer sponsors is looking other ways when it comes to values that should not be questioned at any times.

We would like to underline that person who complained about this Carlsberg behavior is Canadian citizen, employed at the time in Carlsberg Sarajevo office, and member of international expert team of Institute for Research of Genocide Canada.

If you need any additional information, please let us know

Respectfully,

Dr. Emir Rami?

Director of the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada
