Shame on you, Europe
The Institute for Research of Genocide from Canada also reacted strongly, stating that the EU Delegation official paid respects to members of the Bosnian Serb Army, which was convicted of genocide and who had a leading role in crimes against humanity in the spring and summer of 1992, against the Bosniak population.
“Shame on you, Europe. You betrayed Srebrenica and allowed the genocide in Srebrenica, the biggest crime after the Holocaust in Europe. Today, you betrayed truth, justice, the culture of remembrance, and memory. Today, you violated the judgments of international courts on the genocide in Srebrenica, the European Parliament's resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, and the UN General Assembly's resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica,” the Institute stated, demanding an apology from the EU and accountability for this act, which deeply hurt the genocide victims.
Facts. 1. The location is actually called "Military cemetery". 2. There's an actual flag of "war veterans" of the Bosnian Serb paramilitary forces next to the monument where you laid the wreath. 3. There isn't a single court judgment regarding the murder of any Serb civilians in Bratunac. In fact, Bratunac was the site of most horrible persecution and other crimes against humanity against Bosniak civilian population in spring and summer of 1992. The campaign involved mass murder, detention camps, rape camps. 4. Some of the people responsible for those crimes are buried in "Vojni?ko groblje". You bowed to them yesterday.
