The Government of Canada began officially recognizing this genocide in B&H after motion passed in the House of Commons in 2010 calling for the Government to recognize every July 11 as Srebrenica Remembrance Day in Canada.
The victims of genocide in B&H have not been forgotten in Canada. In continuity, the Canadian government in a special way expresses sensitivity and piety towards the victims of genocide in B&H. This is confirmed by the two resolutions of the Canadian Parliament on the genocide in Srebrenica, the permanent exhibition on the genocide in Srebrenica at the Canadian Human Rights Museum, the study of genocide in B&H in Canadian schools, the discovery of monument to victims of genocide in Srebrenica in Windsor, the distribution of the Srebrenica Flower, the symbol of genocide, to all members of the Canadian Parliament, and proclamation on July 11. The Day of Remembrance of Victims of Genocide in Srebrenica in the cities of Hamilton and Windsor.
