A Framework to Understand the Bosnian Genocide
The Institute for Research of Genocide Camada emphasizes scientific research work of Mr. Irfan Mirza as an example of engaged intellectual in the fight for truth and justice for human rights and freedom, and a better world. Irfan has two important books coming out on Bosnia through Halton Creek Press in Vancouver, Canada. Due out later this year is "The History of Bosnia and Herzegovina," a chronicle of the origins of the Bosnian people, dating back to Paleolithic times. This innovative treatise leverages genetic studies, recent developments in geology, anthropology, archeology and diachronic linguistics to reconstruct a scientifically-accurate narrative of the macro-history of Bosnia and Herzegovina over the last 20,000 years. The book covers critical topics such as similarities and differentiation between Bosnians and their neighbors, the Bosnian language, and even more contentious topics such as the role of Yugoslav’s ethnicities in the Second World War, and the genocidal campaigns in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990’s. His other book is entitled, "A Framework to Understand the Bosnian Genocide," due out early next year. This upper-division college level text serves as a basis for sociology, political science and genocide studies, providing students structured guidance on characterizing and classifying socio-political events and trends that are common and prevalent before, during, and after genocidal pogroms. The text draws from Irfan’s experience negotiating cease-fires, the release of prisoners, leading convoys, and as advisor to the UN and international powers, from the start of the war in 1992, to its end in 1995.
