Dear Brother Mohammad,
Dear Brother Mohammad,
As-Salamu Alaikum,
It was a pleasure meeting you at Barakah’s iftar and fundraising dinner in Oakville.
Thank you as well for your support of TMSG’s child malnutrition work in Pakistan.
Further to our discussion, I am writing to propose a potential partnership between *Swiss Barakah* and the Institute for Genocide Research Canada for the publication, distribution, and marketing of this book on the *Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Institute for Genocide Research Canada* is a public scientific institution engaged in analysis of crimes against peace, crime of genocide, and other grave breaches of international law.
This book carries significant historical and educational value. It presents a truthful and well-documented account of the genocide and serves as an important resource to help future generations understand what took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its relevance has become even greater following the *United Nations General Assembly resolution adopted in May 2024,* through which 84 countries voted in favor of recognizing and commemorating the genocide. Under this resolution, July 11 is to be commemorated annually at the *United Nations Headquarters,* and the countries that supported the resolution are also expected to mark the day within their own jurisdictions. This creates a timely and important opportunity to advance public education and awareness.
We have already published the book in the *Bosnian language* and will begin distribution shortly. Our intention is to expand its reach by translating it into a number of major languages, including *Arabic,* so that its message can educate and resonate with broader audiences around the world.
In this context, the *Institute for Genocide Research Canada* is prepared to offer *Swiss Barakah* the rights to publish and market the book. In addition, the Institute is willing to allocate *50% of the profit from book sales* to Swiss Barakah, creating a meaningful opportunity not only for awareness and education, but also for fundraising.
We believe this partnership could serve both an educational and humanitarian purpose, while also opening the door for wider public engagement with this important history.
We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with you and your team and, if there is mutual interest, begin outlining the framework for a formal partnership.
With regards,
