Sino? smo u Torontu, u okviru doga?aja Doha Debates Town Hall „Football Fandom: Community or Commodity?“, okupili inspirativne glasove iz svijeta fudbala, medija i društva kako bismo otvorili jedno od najvažnijih pitanja savremenog sporta: šta se doga?a s navija?kom pripadnoš?u kada veliki novac u?e u igru?
Razgovor je moderirao Imran Garda, a na panelu su nam se pridružili:
Shireen Ahmed, jedna od najprepoznatljivijih sportskih novinarki i zagovornica inkluzivnosti u sportu, viša saradnica CBC Sportsa i suvlasnica engleskog fudbalskog kluba Lewes FC;
David Goldblatt, jedan od najzna?ajnijih savremenih pisaca, histori?ara i sociologa fudbala, koji ovu igru posmatra daleko izvan rezultata i tabela;
Kely Nascimento, predsjednica Nascimento Foundationa, suosniva? Hadaf Globala i k?erka legendarnog Peléa, koja nastavlja graditi naslije?e fudbala kao snage koja povezuje ljude i mijenja zajednice.

U vremenu kada klubove kupuju investitori, navija?i žive hiljadama kilometara od stadiona, a emocije postaju dio globalnog tržišta, razgovarali smo o tome može li fudbal ostati zajednica, ili je navija?ka odanost postala samo još jedan proizvod koji se kupuje i prodaje.

On July 8, international experts will join students and recent graduates from Qatar, Canada and Mexico to debate the question: What happens to football fandom when big money gets involved?
Moderator Imran Garda will be joined by Shireen Ahmed, a senior contributor at CBC Sports and co-owner of Lewes FC in East Sussex, England; David Goldblatt, a writer, historian and sociologist of football; and Kely Nascimento, president of Nascimento Foundation and co-founder of Hadaf Global, to discuss how football’s transformation into a global business is reshaping the meaning of the game and its fandom. As more clubs are purchased by investors with little connection to the communities they represent, how are the bonds between supporters and their teams impacted? Is the commercialization of football creating a more inclusive and connected game, or turning loyalty into just another product to be bought and sold? And when fans are separated from their clubs by oceans, cultures, and continents, what does it really mean to belong?
